This is what I currently use on my main desktop:
Font (Hint: Slight / 92dpi)
Other stuff: Conky, Audacious, CoverGloobus
I decided to switch from XFCE to KDE because I don't like where XFCE is going, becoming a copy of GNOME (CSD sucks).
